The MAT was born from the human and professional experiences that Anna Raudino and Aldo Turco – she an archaeologist and he a marine biologist – gained in Australia, where they lived and worked for more than ten years.
Anna has managed cultural and archaeological heritage projects both in Italy and abroad. Her experience in remote areas of the Australian deserts has allowed her to live and collaborate with local Aboriginal communities, collecting testimonies of a culture that is still alive. The need to protect the history of her homeland and her experience in museums played a key role in the creation of the MAT.
Aldo focuses on environmental and marine sustainability. During his years teaching at university, a crucial part of his professional development, he recognized the importance of creating ecological education programs for a change that respects nature. From his experiences, the idea of creating an aquaponics program within the MAT was born.
