Planeta, a Sicilian winery with 371 hectares of vineyards, 151 of olive groves, and seven wineries located in five territories, has for nearly five centuries, through seventeen generations, promoted the protection and development of the territory through agriculture, with an innovative approach oriented toward environmental sustainability. The Planeta family values viticulture and olive growing as vehicles for territorial development, helping to define a contemporary image of Sicily, aware of its roots and projected into the world with unique products and projects. In addition to agricultural production, Planeta is active in hospitality with a varied proposal that embraces all the company's estates, including residential, leisure and wine tour offerings. It also promotes the “Culture for the Territory” program, which ranges from music to theater, contemporary art, and literature. In 2023, Alessio Planeta was named “Winemaker of the Year,” and in 2024 the family received the title of “Wine Family of the Year.
We have always combined our passion for Sicily with the desire to offer the warmest welcome to those who wish to discover it.
Our wineries, in addition to being dedicated to wine production, are also places of hospitality — deeply connected to cuisine, nature, and culture.
In our estates of Menfi, Vittoria, Noto, Etna, and Capo Milazzo, we have built hospitality as a true collection of tailor-made experiences, each shaped by the uniqueness of its territory, its wines, and the beauty of its landscape.
Buonivini Winery is located in the heart of the Val di Noto, between the late Baroque cities of Noto and Modica, the seaside villages of Marzamemi and Portopalo di Capo Passero, and the Vendicari Nature Reserve.
The third step in the Planeta family’s journey to explore and enhance Sicilian winemaking takes place here, in Buonivini — a historic district whose name itself reveals its centuries-old winemaking tradition.
What brought us to this land is Nero d’Avola, now the undisputed king of Sicilian viticulture.
The Buonivini Estate stretches across gentle hills, where the neat geometry of vineyards alternates with young almond groves and majestic carob trees.
A visit to the estate is a journey between past and present: from the Invisible Winery, an architectural project perfectly integrated into the surrounding landscape, to the Palmento, the traditional stone structure where farmers once made their wine.
