Frantoio Mozzicato was founded in Canicattini Bagni in 1950, four generations ago — but the true elder of the family is over 400 years old: our Zaituna tree, an indigenous olive variety found only in our region.
Our family’s history as olive oil producers begins with this majestic green giant, which dominates our countryside in the Siracusa area — about 50 hectares of olive, almond, and carob trees. Paolo Mozzicato started the business, installing one of the first traditional olive oil presses in the area.
In 2005, the company was passed on to his son, Giuseppe Mozzicato, who carried out the first major transformation — converting the old press system into a modern centrifugal plant, while continuing his father’s work with passion and dedication.
