The Sultana Winery, located in Pachino, in the heart of southeastern Sicily, extends over 6 hectares and boasts a winemaking tradition dating back to 1877, the year Corrado Sultana began cultivating Nero d'Avola, a native grape variety. Since 2000, Rosario Sultana and his wife Francesca Mauceri have relaunched the winery with new vineyards of Syrah, Moscato, Grillo, and Sangiovese, and the construction of two wineries: one in the Burgio district for winemaking, storage, and bottling, and the other in the Triona district, dedicated to tastings and direct sales. The fifth generation of the family, represented by brothers Corrado, Giuseppe, and Giovanni Paolo, passionately continues this legacy, enhancing the unique characteristics of the terroir. Tradition and innovation are based on the balance between nature and human intervention, through organic farming practices, manual grape harvesting, fermentation with indigenous yeasts, and limited use of sulfites. The wines produced are born from the combination of family tradition and the unique characteristics of the territory, offering those who taste them genuine experiences, rich in authenticity and memories of the place.
The Sultana winery tasting experience is designed to reveal the finest of the estate's production, pairing each wine with typical local products for a unique sensory journey. You'll savor the bold character of the Nero d'Avola Bachynum, the freshness of the Apollonia rosé, the elegance of the Syrah Abbinirichi, the intensity of the Sangiovese Sangiò, the enveloping aroma of the Calidda, and the sweetness of the Moscato Ballerina, an aromatic wine that complements the estate's portfolio. Every sip speaks of history, terroir, and passion, in a welcoming and relaxed atmosphere. Tastings are available by reservation to ensure a personalized experience for each guest.
